The Ministry of Culture and Communication attributed the label Country of Art and History that Country the Loire Touraine. Tourism and Handicap The Label » Tourism and Handicap » is an answer at the request of the people in situation of handicap who want to be able to choose their holidays and their leisure activities quite freely. The label brings a guarantee of a reception effective and adapted to the essential needs for the disabled people. Documents used for the evaluation which precedes the labelling were developed in dialogue between persons receiving benefits associations of the tourism and representatives of the disabled people.
The label is also a way to make sensitive the people working in the tourist industry in the reception of the people handicaped thanks to the professional unions but also through the French network of institutional of the tourism ( tourist office, tourist information office, departmental and regional committee of the tourism ). The Tourisme et Handicaps association is permanently used to it.
The conditions of attribution of the label were formalized by the ministry delegated to the tourism which confided to the association » Tourisme et Handicaps » the mission to help concretely in its implementation.
