Strolls in nature
Have a walk or ride your bike to discover the lovely countryside around Chenonceaux. You’ll come across diverse landscapes: along the Cher river, among the fields or the vineyards and fall in love with the bucolic atmosphere.

Spend a day in the magical animal world of the Zoo de Beauval, which is only 30 km away from Chenonceaux, and discover more than 600 species in more than 80 acres.
Nearby you can also do many other leisure activities: Family Park, Loire Valley Leisures, Gadawi Park, Forteresse du Faucon Noir … There are leisure or historic parks, tree climbing, and other unusual activities to suit your taste and budget.
A few kilometres away from Chenonceaux there is Family Park to welcome your children for a day of rides in a fairground. Lots of fun guaranteed!
Finally, you can find more to the East, in the department of the Loir-et-Cher, called Loisirs Loire Valley, an original leisure park with ATV, archery and microlight…
In the air
Enjoy an aerial visit to the Chateaux of the Loire Valley from a hot air balloon, a microlight, a helicopter or a paraglider … There are numerous possibilities, and you can enjoy seeing and photographing the Chateau of Chenonceau from the sky.
On the water
From Easter onwards, and sometimes all year round, there are activities on the river. They will enable you to relax and see the castles from another point of view!
Come on Board
Whether you are adventurous or you enjoy a more relaxing activity, going on a boat to pass under the arches of the Château de Chenonceau is always a lovely idea!
Canoeing : you could either rent a canoe for a quiet or a more athletic ride on the Cher river in one of our canoe rental companies. It is also a great way to explore the fauna and flora of our region!
On a gabare, a traditional Loire river boat : if you want a soothing stroll to start or finish your day, hop on a gabare and go under the arches of the Château de Chenonceau. You can make a wish while under the castle, but it only works once!
You could also dive into one of our swimming pools in a village surrounding Chenonceaux!
